MDM August 23 to 26 2002: Mir Developers Meet

From August 23 to 26 2002 a Mir Developers meeting will take place in Berlin Germany. It will be a technical conference mainly focused on developing a roadmap for futur developement of Mir.
A Mir Developers Meeting from August 23rd to the 26th 2002 in Berlin,
Germany. The aim of the conference is to gather several users/developers
of the Mir CMS software together and to discuss the weaknesses/strengths
of the software as well as upcoming useability/feature needs in the
context in the ever growing CMS landscape. The meeting will primarly focus
on unifying diverse views to come up with a clear roadmap of what needs to
be done and how it should be implemented as well as dividing tasks and

Presentations of the inner outer workings of the existing Mir layers
interfaces will also take place to introduce new developers to the
software as well introducing the new Producer layer.
Some "proof of concept" programming and testing will most likely also
take place.
The meeting will be a technical meeting, but open to all who have an
interest in Mir and are interested in offering feedback from an end-user
perspective.
Now for the mechanical details:
* The meeting will start at noon friday the 23rd of August and end
sometime on the following monday.
* It will take place at Lotec/Ziolona Gora Gruenberger Str. 73, 10245 Berlin,
Germany (directly at Boxhagener Platz In the Friedrichshain
neighbourhood). For more information on lotec, see

* We will try to arrange money for food/transport, but no guarantees.
* Accomodation in the form of floorspace for you and your sleeping bag
will be provided.
* As it will be an international meeting, the language of discussion will
be English, but translation English-German-French can be done if needed.
* You can either show up at noon on Friday at lotec or if you plan on
arriving earlier, please contact mh at nadir.org or idefix at nadir.org
beforehand.
Tech details:
* A flatrate internet connection will be available.
* DHCP service and local DNS will also be provided.
Directions:
1. The Berlin "Ostbahnhof" main train station is about 20 minutes walking
distance away. If you plan on arriving by train, please get off there
and not at the Berlin Zoo station.
2. Once there, walk down to the hallway below the tracks and go to the
S-bahn (a kind of urban transit/Light rail train) tracks direction
Wartenberg, Strausberg Nord, Ahrensfeld or Erkner. Get on any train
headed in one of those directions and get off at the next stop
"Warschauer Str.". You do not need to buy an s-bahn ticket as it is
covered by your train ticket.
3. From Warschauer. Str., turn right and walk north along the bridge over
the tracks past Revaler and Wühlisch Streets, till Grünberger.
You can also take tram number 20 from the station till Grünberger str.
instead of walking.
4. Turn right on Grünberger and walk straight till Boxhagener Platz, a
square on the right. Lotec should be on your left across from the
square at Nr. 73.

* If you happen to be coming from somewhere else and took the U-bahn
(subway) you can get off at Frankfurter Tor. (line 5) also on the map or
Warschauer Str. (Line 1) next to the S-bahn station
